Design Daddy

Hello, I’m the Design Daddy

A mid-30’s director of a design company, father of three wonderful children, husband to an amazing wife and general lover of life, technology, sport and the internet.

I initially created this blog to anonymously rant about things in my professional life which annoy me, amusing stories about juggling life running my own business while also trying to be an awesome dad. I’m no writer, but hope to entertain those who do stumble across this blog… but I guess it’s mainly an outlet for me, to say the things I can’t say attached to my business. So apologies if I drop a few F-Bombs.

The Fam
Boss

Boss

The Boss. I say this not in a derogatory way. She is the boss of the house, the rock, the thing that keeps all the madness in check. I’m a kid myself, so need to be supported by this woman constantly. She’s co-director of the business, and without her it would be nothing. At home, she’s the most amazing mother and wife. I’ve not seen any other woman strive to be as perfect a mum as she does, the way our kids are is testament to her parenting (not mine). She puts up with me and my shit/annoyances/mess, I’m not easy to live with. Plus, she’s smoking hot.
Bean

Bean

My first. He’s the most amazing little boy, a miracle and a gift. Had a rough start to life, was lucky to have made it. He’s broken the mould for “perfect child”. He’s beautiful both inside and out, the most caring, loving and thoughtful child, with an intelligence that is off the chart. He’s 6 now, but acts more mature than me a lot of the time.
Bear

Bear

Middle child. The Bear. Aptly named as he really is the most cuddly little creature you’re ever likely to meet… and he really is a creature, who needs a zoo, just come to our house, we have real life animals roaming free. Bear is 4 now. Again, another blessing, very lucky to be here. He’s a typical middle child, definately the most naughty, has a knack for breaking things with his inquisitive nature (or sheer brute force and wrecklessness).
Boo

Boo

The Baby. Boo will always be the baby, even though she’s almost 2 (there definitely won’t be anymore added to the clan). We weren’t trying for a girl, and I never saw myself as a dad who wanted a girl, but my goodness, she is the most amazing little thing. I have a totally different bond with my little princess, and now understand what other dad’s with girls mean. She is a right little madame. She quickly established her authority over all the men in the house, and is most definitely the boss of the house (under mummy of course).
